Oval’s are very easy to learn if you are looking to increase your knowledge of specific fish as you graduate from being a open water diver to a more advanced diver. Butterfly fish in general are a good place along with Angelfish to learn more specifics as they are present on all tropical reefs.
Ovals like most butterfly fish pair up and are found in mostly shallow water . Snorkelers and free divers are also very likely to see these fish as opposed to say Reticular Butterfly’s or Pyramid butterfly which are found in much deeper water or as a sort of pelagic off the walls and steep slopes.
