Panda ButterflyPanda Butterfly fish is a close cousin of the Raccoon Butterfly fish. The scientific name for them is chaetodon adiergastos. They are found in the western pacific and Indonesia very common in Bali Indonesia.

Panda’s are also like there namesakes very shy and like to hide in crevices or behind things like in this case a very large fan in around 10 meters of water. Usually not very deep 5 meters to 25 meters.

Like the name sake Panda the easiest way to spot them is the mask on the face .  You might also notice that there is a false eye directly above where the eye is an adaptation found on many butterfly fish to confuse predators as to where they are looking to go next.

Oval shaped and compared to other butterfly fish medium in size.
